Church Covenant

Why a Covenant?

The church covenant is a set of promises that define what membership in our congregation means. By agreeing to abide by this covenant, we enter into a network of mutual obligation and privilege. By keeping these promises, we become family to one another.

Signing the Public Copy

A public copy of the church covenant hangs in the vestibule. When an individual chooses to join our congregation, that person is asked to sign the public copy of the covenant. This usually takes place at the end of a worship service.

If a person is being baptized, he or she will sign the covenant at the conclusion of their baptismal service.

Baptism marks the beginning of a Christian life. Signing the covenant marks the beginning of church membership with this particular congregation.
