Missions
Missions PDF Print E-mail

The gospel offers disciples an opportunity to be partners with God in the work that He is doing to bring all things into conformity with His will. In a single word, this partnership is what we call "missions."

We offer a variety of missions opportunities, from one-day events to on-going groups.

Baptist Men PDF Print E-mail

The Baptist Men's Group is heavily invested in hands-on missions, particularly "handyman" projects in the homes of members and non-members alike. A typical project was the construction of a handicap access ramp at the home of one of our oldest members.

The group also organizes and promotes an annual local mission project called "Operation Inasmuch."

The group meets once a month, on a Thursday evening, in the church fellowship hall at 6:30 p.m. for a meal, worship, and planning. Rich VanDriesen and Brad Kovach lead the group.

Girls in Action PDF Print E-mail

Girls in grades 1-6 get a healthy does of missions education and experience by participating in Girls in Action.

The group meets on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. (fall, winter, and spring). Girls learn about missionaries at home and abroad, and participate in several local mission projects each year.

Our GA program is directed by Connie Harrelson, assisted by Ramona Humphries, Annie Burleson, and Annette Hartman.

Mission Friends PDF Print E-mail

Preschoolers, age 2 through kindergarten, get a child's eye view of missions and missionaries at Mission Friends.

The group meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. (fall, winter, and spring), and is led by Shelley Parker and Tina Burgan.

WMU PDF Print E-mail

The women of Moyock Baptist are involved in a wide variety of mission projects during the year. through WMU, women are involved in praying for missionaries serving around the world, supporting the missions offering of the church, and promoting a monthly mission action project.

The WMU is led by Janis Adams, and consists of two circles. The Genevieve West Circle meets on the first Wednesday morning of each month, at 10:00 a.m., in the fellowship hall. The Marion Welch Circle meets on Monday evenings, generally the second of each month, at 6:30 p.m., in the fellowship hall.

Royal Ambassadors PDF Print E-mail

What GA's is for girls, RA's is for boys: a child-sized education in missions. Royal Ambassadors learn what missionaries do, and seek to live a missions lifestyle at home and school.

The group meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in room 5 (fall, winter, and spring), under the direction of Brad Reynolds.

Mission Trip PDF Print E-mail

Each summer, a team of youth and adults travels to a mission site for a week-long mission trip.

In 2002, we sent a group to Smyrna, Tennessee, to help with the restoration of the Wherry Housing Project, and in 2003, we worked in Perry County, Alabama, one of the poorest counties in the country, to assist in community restoration efforts. Both of these trips were taken with churches in the Mission Unidiversity network.
