Youth Ministries

Youth Ministries

Students in the sixth grade through the end of high school are invited to participate in our youth ministries. (For church purposes, "middle school" begins with the 6th grade.)

In addition, to Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, youth are free to participate in the Adult Choir and, (9th grade and up) on the church's summer mission trip.

We also have a variety of activities and programs just for youth.

Youth Fellowship

Youth Fellowship meets on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall. It's a time for youth to mingle with their friends, share a snack supper, and participate in an in-depth Bible study geared to their particular needs.

Creative Arts

We offer youth a variety of opportunities to express their faith creatively. Youth dance and drama teams meet on Sunday evening, prior to youth fellowship. The puppet team rehearses on Wednesday evenings during the missions hour.

These groups perform during worship services and at special events, like the Christmas program.

Summer Camp

Each summer, our youth attend a week-long camp at the North Carolina Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell. Caswell is located about 45 miles south of Wilmington, on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Cape Fear River.

During the week, youth and their adult chaperones live together in a church group apartment or residence building, attend high-energy worship services and Bible studies, and enjoy a wide variety of recreational activities.

Youth Events

Throughout the year, parents of youth band together to provide a series of safe, fun activities for teenagers. Roller skating, ice skating, are among the activities on the youth events calendar.

Dinner Theatre

Our youth conduct one major fund-raising event each year, a spring dinner theatre. The evening involves a wonderful meal prepared by youth parents and served by the youth themselves, and a play or variety show performed by youth and adults from our church.

This year's dinner theatre is scheduled for Friday-Sunday, April 28-30. On Friday and Saturday, the event begins at 6:30 p.m., and on Sunday, it begins at 5:30 p.m.
